South Korea Projects 500+ Trillion Won National Tax Revenue for 2027, Up 110+ Trillion Won

According to Finance Minister Park Hong-geun on July 26, South Korea's projected national tax revenue for 2027 will exceed 500 trillion won, marking an increase of over 110 trillion won from the current year's 390 trillion won estimate. The government plans to channel the additional revenue into three mega-projects—semiconductors, AI data centers, and physical AI—alongside efforts to boost growth potential. Minister Park attributed the revenue surge to prolonged semiconductor demand driven by AI expansion and large-scale tech investments, characterizing it as a structural trend rather than a cyclical phenomenon.
