Shinhan Financial Signs MOU With Canton Foundation on June 4, Two Subsidiaries to Participate in Canton Network Governance

Shinhan Financial Group and Canton Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding on June 4 to establish a governance participation framework for Canton Network, a public-permissioned blockchain network designed for regulated financial markets. Shinhan Asset Management and Shinhan Investment & Securities, both subsidiaries of Shinhan Financial, will jointly participate in the governance initiatives.

Under the MOU, both companies will collaborate on education and consulting regarding South Korea's evolving regulatory environment for tokenization and digital assets, as well as research on the global competitiveness of Korean digital financial products. Viv Devraka, Global Head of Canton Foundation, stated that the foundation welcomes Shinhan's participation and expects collaboration on governance participation milestones and broader initiatives supporting interoperable digital market growth.
