Seven Belgian Activists Detained by Israeli Forces Arrive in Istanbul

According to state broadcaster CCTV, seven Belgian activists detained by Israeli forces arrived in Istanbul, Turkey on May 21. The Global Witness vessel's Belgian chapter confirmed the activists have safely reached the city and will undergo medical checks before returning to Belgium. On May 18, Israeli military intercepted the ship in international waters, using rubber bullets and forcible restraint before detaining the crew members. One activist, 57-year-old Julian Cabral, stated that some detained personnel did not receive timely medical assistance during captivity.
