According to Serenity via BlockBeats, on July 11, despite potential reductions in optical modules required per individual XPU due to OpenAI MRC network architecture optimization and Amazon RNG architecture improvements, Serenity maintains that rapid expansion in overall AI compute scale will sustain growth in optical communication demand.

Serenity noted that increased XPU deployment volumes will drive continued growth in total optical module requirements. Regarding CPO (co-packaged optics) laser solutions, Serenity views VCSEL as a suitable transitional technology for NPO (near-packaged optics) and short-distance interconnects, while high-power continuous wave (UHP CW) lasers represent the superior long-term CPO solution, aligning with prior statements from Broadcom.
