According to South Korea's stock exchange, on July 23, single-stock leveraged exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix recorded trading volume of 7.16 trillion won, accounting for 26.9% of KOSPI's total daily turnover of 26.67 trillion won. The combined assets under management of these 10 products grew 134.4% to 10.55 trillion won since their May 27 debut, from 4.5 trillion won. South Korea's financial regulators announced remedial measures on July 16 to address extreme market volatility, including raising minimum deposit requirements from 10 million to 30 million won, increasing trading unit size from 1 share to 20 shares, and temporarily halting new single-stock product listings. These regulations will be implemented in phases: minimum deposit on August 5, exclusion of non-cash collateral on August 19, and trading unit changes in November.
