Russia's State Duma Sets Crypto Purchase Limits at 300K Rubles Annually, Votes on Regulation on July 21

According to TASS, Russia's State Duma will hold second and third readings on a cryptocurrency market regulation bill on July 21. The legislation aims to create a legal framework for crypto operations while combating illegal activity in the sector. Under the proposed framework from Russia's central bank, non-qualified investors will be allowed to purchase highly liquid crypto assets, capped at 300,000 rubles (approximately $3,800) per year through a single intermediary, with investors required to pass a certification test before purchasing.
