Ripple announced this week that it has partnered with Water.org as the exclusive digital asset and payments partner for the Get Blue campaign. Through this collaboration, Ripple will use its RLUSD stablecoin to channel charitable funds toward providing safe water and sanitation access to 200 million people globally by 2030.
According to Ripple's statement, the partnership leverages blockchain technology to move charitable funds more efficiently than traditional cross-border payment methods. The company noted that over 2 billion people worldwide currently lack access to safe water at home, and that conventional international transfers are often slow and costly, directly reducing resources available to communities in need. This initiative marks a significant expansion of RLUSD beyond payments and financial settlement into humanitarian applications.
