Prysmian Signs $6.4 Billion Long-Term Supply Deal with Molex for Data Center Cables

According to The Economic Times, Italian cable maker Prysmian and Molex, a US electronics company owned by Koch, signed a long-term supply agreement worth up to 5.5 billion euros ($6.4 billion) to provide fibre optic cables for data centers over up to 10 years. The deal includes a 550 million euros ($628 million) upfront payment.

Prysmian will invest 1.25 billion euros ($1.42 billion) through 2031 to expand optical cable and fibre production capacity, including doubling its US operations. The company expects to add 1,000 jobs globally through the expansion, including 600 positions in the United States.
