Pakistan Kills 29 Militants in Border Ground Operation as Attacks Escalate

According to the Associated Press, Pakistan's security forces conducted an intelligence-based ground operation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on Sunday, killing 29 militants through precision strikes on hideouts. The operation followed an armed attack on the Rangers paramilitary headquarters in Karachi the previous day, which left three soldiers dead. Security forces killed three attackers and detained another identified as an Afghan national. The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan splinter faction "Hizb-ul-Ahrar" claimed responsibility for the Karachi assault in a Saturday evening statement.
