According to analyst Ed Zitron and Financial Times, OpenAI reported a $13.07 billion revenue for fiscal year 2025, up from $3.7 billion in 2024, but faced total operating costs of $34 billion, resulting in a $21 billion operating loss. When accounting for non-cash charges from its conversion from nonprofit to for-profit status (estimated $30–41.6 billion), OpenAI's net loss reached $38.53 billion. As a major customer of NVIDIA data center GPUs and a core client of cloud providers Oracle and CoreWeave, any payment delays could ripple across the infrastructure supply chain, threatening partners already committed to multi-billion-dollar investments in AI capacity.
