NASA to Begin Lunar Base Construction in 2027, Achieve Permanent Outpost by Early 2030s

GateNews
According to NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman's statement on Wednesday, the agency will begin constructing a lunar base starting in 2027, with robotic landings planned approximately once per month. By 2028, when Artemis 4 astronauts land on the Moon, foundational infrastructure will be ready for their arrival. Isaacman noted that by the early 2030s, astronauts could potentially live on the lunar surface for several months at a time. NASA has selected Blue Origin and other contractors to develop landers and lunar rovers as part of a three-phase strategy to prepare for crewed missions.
