Myanmar Proposes Death Penalty for Criminals Using Violence to Force Victims Into Crypto Fraud Centers

According to Protos, Myanmar on May 15 proposed introducing capital punishment for criminals who use violence, torture, unlawful arrest, detention, or cruel treatment to coerce victims into participating in cryptocurrency fraud centers. Under the draft Cyber Crime Prevention Act, perpetrators face execution, while fraud center operators and crypto scam implementers will receive life imprisonment. The legislation is set to be submitted to parliament in June.
