According to Bloomberg, multiple senior wealth managers at UBS who joined from HSBC in 2024 have departed within two years, highlighting intense talent competition in the Middle East. The departures include Rana Al Emam, who was tasked with expanding UBS’s Abu Dhabi operations, and Ali Khunji, who oversaw wealth management in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. Al Emam has joined Santander, while Khunji joined Swiss wealth manager J. Safra Sarasin earlier this year.
