Leveraged Funds' Yen Short Bets Hit 19-Year High of 137,828 Contracts, CFTC Data Shows

According to CFTC data released on June 6, leveraged funds' net yen short positions reached minus 137,828 contracts as of May 30, marking a 19-year high since June 2007. The data indicates speculative bets against the yen continued to intensify despite persistent intervention signals from Japanese authorities. Leveraged funds maintained net short positions exceeding 100,000 contracts for five consecutive weeks.
