Kakao Pay Securities Obtains Investment Trading License on July 13

According to YNA and South Korean financial regulators, Kakao Pay Securities obtained its investment trading business license on July 13. The Financial Supervisory Service approved the company's application for expanded financial investment business registration on July 1.

The license enables Kakao Pay Securities to underwrite and directly trade securities, beyond its previous brokerage-focused model. CEO Shin Ho-chul stated: "This approval provides a foundation for transformation into a comprehensive securities company that can directly underwrite and supply products beyond brokerage services. We will create differentiated synergies by combining our large retail user base with investment banking capabilities."
