Japan's LDP Blockchain Caucus Submits Web3 Policy Proposal to Finance Minister on June 1

According to Coinpost, Japan's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) blockchain promotion caucus submitted a policy proposal to Finance Minister Katayama Sakatsuki on June 1, urging the inclusion of blockchain and Web3 in national strategy. The proposal covers tax reform, crypto ETFs, leverage trading limits, and regulatory oversight of unregistered operators. It recommends raising the current 2x leverage cap for individual crypto traders and clarifies crypto asset taxation methods including inheritance treatment. The caucus also proposes a new tax system to take effect in January 2028.
