Israeli Defense Minister Refuses to Withdraw from Lebanon Security Zone; 200K Civilians Barred on June 24

According to Jin10, Israeli Defense Minister Gallant stated on June 24 that the military will not withdraw from the security zone established in southern Lebanon, despite pressure from the United States. Approximately 200,000 Lebanese residents will not be allowed to return to the region. Gallant explained the decision citing past security incidents, stating: "When civilians were present in the security zone, roadside bombings and attacks on soldiers occurred, so we will not allow this to happen again."
