According to Israel Defense Forces, the IDF conducted an airstrike in the Baalbek region of eastern Lebanon on the morning of May 18, killing Wael Mahmoud Abdel Halim, a commander responsible for Palestinian Islamic Jihad operations in the Bekaa Valley. The IDF stated that Abdel Halim oversaw coordination between Jihad armed personnel and Hezbollah.
