Hong Kong Airport Robbery: 6 Kilograms of Gold Worth HKD 7 Million Stolen on June 18

According to Oriental Daily News, a 36-year-old man was robbed of 6 kilograms of gold bars worth approximately HKD 7 million at Hong Kong International Airport's parking lot on June 18 after being attacked with a knife. The suspect fled with a backpack containing the gold bars.

The incident follows a series of major gold and cash robberies in Hong Kong over the past year, including a September 2025 heist at a gold workshop in Hong Kong that netted approximately 65 kilograms of gold worth HKD 59 million, and a March 2026 robbery at a gold shop in Ho Man Tin where 73 kilograms of gold bars valued at approximately HKD 100 million were stolen.
