According to Nikkei, corporate bond issuance globally reached $3.68 trillion in the first half of 2026, marking another record for the period, as companies raced to raise capital for artificial intelligence investments. The total increased 10% compared to the same period in 2025, though the number of issuances declined 12% to 10,408 deals, indicating larger average deal sizes. U.S. issuance accounted for over 30% of global volume for the first time in six years.
