EU Expands Belarus Crypto Ban to All MiCA Service Providers, Effective August 25

According to Cointelegraph, the European Union will prohibit Belarusian citizens and residents from owning, controlling, or managing crypto service providers regulated under MiCA from August 25. The measure was approved Thursday as part of the EU's expanded sanctions framework against Belarus for its involvement in Russia's war in Ukraine.

The ban extends beyond crypto wallets and custody services to cover all MiCA-defined crypto asset activities, including exchange platforms, crypto-to-fiat conversion, execution of customer orders, investment advice, and portfolio management.
