Ethereum Plunges 10% to $1,545, Drags Altcoin Market Below $880B on June 5

According to Bitcoin.com News, on June 5, Ethereum plunged 10% to $1,545, dragging the altcoin market capitalization below $880 billion while $468 million in leverage positions were liquidated. ETH's seven-day losses reached 22%, with long liquidations accounting for $408 million of the total.

Zecash crashed over 40% to $264.80 after an AI tool uncovered a critical security flaw in the Orchard shielded pool that enabled token counterfeiting. The vulnerability had remained undetected since 2022. Following the disclosure, ZEC relinquished its position as the leading privacy coin to Monero.
