Ethereum Gains 11% in Early July as Institutional Infrastructure and Upgrades Emerge as Catalysts

ETH-0.67%

According to Sharplink research head Steven Ehrlich, Ethereum (ETH) has gained approximately 11% so far in July 2026. Historical data shows that July has been Ethereum's strongest month since 2020, with an average gain of 27% over that period. Among the four Julys in the past decade when ETH posted gains, the average increase reached 43%.

Ehrlich noted that institutional infrastructure development and technical roadmap upgrades may drive the current momentum. The Ethereum Institutional initiative and EthLabs protocol development program launched recently to accelerate institutional adoption on-chain. Additionally, Vitalik Buterin's "Lean Ethereum" proposal from July 4 aims to simplify the protocol's architecture and enhance quantum-resistant security features.
