Digital Yuan Transactions in Jiangsu Add 7 Trillion Yuan in H1 2026, Up 215% YoY

According to Zhang Zhixin, deputy governor of the People's Bank of China Jiangsu branch, digital yuan transactions in Jiangsu added 7 trillion yuan in the first half of 2026, up 215% year-over-year, accounting for over 80% of China's total transaction volume. Cross-border digital yuan transactions reached 70.3 billion yuan, nearly triple the full-year 2025 total. The province reported 81.32 million digital yuan wallets and 12.31 million monthly active wallets.
