Danske Bank Adjusts Fed Rate Outlook, Expects 25 bps Hikes in Dec 2026 and March 2027

GateNews
According to Danske Bank, on May 21, the Nordic bank adjusted its expectations for U.S. Federal Reserve policy, now predicting the next rate moves will occur in December 2026 and March 2027, with 25 basis points hikes at each meeting. Antti Ilvonen, senior analyst at Danske Bank, attributed the shift to stronger-than-expected U.S. nominal growth and structural inflation driven by demand factors, combined with easing labor market downside risks and AI-driven investment demand. The bank previously expected the Fed to cut rates to 3.00%–3.25%.
