Conio Receives MiCAR Crypto License Ahead of EU Deadline on June 30

According to Reuters, Italian crypto fintech Conio has obtained a crypto asset service provider (CASP) license under the European Union's MiCAR framework in Italy on June 20. The company, backed by Poste Italiane and Banca Generali, received the authorization from Italy's Consob and central bank, enabling it to offer digital asset custody, transfers, and placement services.

The MiCAR transition period ends on June 30, 2026, after which companies without proper licensing will be unable to provide crypto services in Italy and the EU.
