China's 20-City Secondhand Home Sales Rise 19.5% in Early May

According to China Index Academy, China's 20-city secondhand residential sales reached 107,000 units from May 1–24, 2026, up 19.5% year-over-year, with the growth rate continuing to expand compared to April.

Price trends stabilized across major cities: Shanghai achieved month-over-month gains from March to April, while Beijing and Shenzhen saw their declines narrow significantly compared to the fourth quarter of 2025.
