China Opposes U.S. Politicizing Trade and Tech Issues Through Export Controls, June 17

According to CCTV News, on June 17, China's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Lin Jian responded to reports that the U.S. Commerce Department delayed adding multiple Chinese companies to its export control entity list. Lin stated that China has consistently opposed the U.S. expanding the concept of national security and abusing export control tools such as the entity list to suppress Chinese enterprises. She called on the U.S. to stop politicizing, instrumentalizing, and weaponizing trade and technology issues.

China's position reflects ongoing tensions over Washington's use of export restrictions targeting Chinese firms in sectors including semiconductors and advanced technology.
