Cardano Activates Van Rossem Hard Fork on July 18, Upgrades to Protocol Version 11

According to ChainCatcher, Cardano activated the Van Rossem hard fork on July 18 at 21:44:51 UTC, upgrading the network to protocol version 11 with no reported downtime. The upgrade, the first to be completed entirely through chain-based governance voting, aims to reduce Plutus smart contract execution costs, enhance ledger security, and introduce new cryptographic tools. Delegated representatives approved the upgrade with 77.63% support, while stake pool operators voted at 52.7% in favor. The Constitutional Committee voted 6-0-0-1.
