Beijing Launches 3-Year Surgical Robot Rental Pilot Program in Public Hospitals

GateNews
According to the Beijing Hospital Administration Center, Beijing launched a three-year surgical robot rental pilot program on May 26, 2026, with multiple Grade-A tertiary hospitals already participating. The initiative aims to gradually expand robot-assisted surgeries across more medical departments within Beijing's public hospital system. The supported surgical robots must be domestically produced in China, meet government procurement standards for national products, demonstrate advanced technology and innovation, and have clear intellectual property rights. The pilot will establish management systems and operating mechanisms for surgical robot rentals, creating replicable models for nationwide expansion.
