Backpack Launches Securities Platform Blending Real U.S. Stocks and Tokenized Trading on Tuesday

According to an announcement on Tuesday, Backpack launched Backpack Securities, a platform enabling users to buy, hold, and sell real U.S. stocks through regulated brokerage infrastructure while converting holdings into tokenized versions tradable on blockchain networks.

Backpack has partnered with Solana-based tokenization protocol Sunrise to allow users to convert stock holdings into tokenized securities. These tokens will be transferable, compatible with wallets and DeFi protocols, and tradable 24/7 via Solana. The exchange intends to expand to additional blockchains. Brokerage services are expected to roll out beginning in June.
