OpenAI plans to invest $25 billion in Argentina to create Latin America's first "Stargate" project.

Jin10 reported on October 15 that OpenAI has signed a letter of intent with energy company Sur Energy to build a data center hub in Argentina, with an investment of up to $25 billion. This will become one of the largest technology infrastructure projects in the country's history. OpenAI CEO Altman stated: “We will collaborate with one of Argentina's leading energy companies, Sur Energy, to launch the exciting new infrastructure project 'StarGate Argentina'.” He described the project as “one of the largest energy technology and infrastructure plans in Argentina's history.” The 'StarGate Argentina' project will establish a large facility capable of supporting next-generation artificial intelligence computing, with an energy capacity reaching 500 megawatts.
