A small factory in Shandong that makes "old man's joy" vehicles sued Xiaomi Cars.

They claimed that Xiaomi SU7's headlights and bumpers resemble Porsche.

They demanded the cancellation of these appearance patents.

Court opened today. An ant fighting an elephant.

The "old man's joy" factory's reasoning is quite "direct":

Your design has minor modifications.

No innovation, no confusion.

Shouldn't monopolize it, should share it.

Xiaomi's side disagrees:

We invested billions, hired top teams.

The design was praised by Porsche as "kindred spirits in design."

You say it lacks innovation?

But both are secretly pleased:

If "old man's joy" wins, they can copy freely.

If they lose, they still get famous, traffic soars.

If Xiaomi wins, their patent becomes stronger.

If they lose, it actually proves the design is excellent, PR takes off.

Previously: If not endorsed by Porsche, you weren't top-tier.

Now: If not sued by "old man's joy," you're not truly top-tier.

Porsche: Shandong buddy, keep the competition going, I'm taking a break first.
