MACD showed a very obvious exhaustion signal. Furthermore, this position itself was in a typical triangle wedge oscillation pattern, where price action should follow whichever direction the volume-price breaks through. In an oscillating market, the correct approach should be to short near the upper band and go long near the lower band (taking profits near the upper/lower bands as well), not to make premature directional judgments! Moreover, combined with MACD's exhaustion signal, the primary direction should first consider a bearish bias.
