OpenClaw releases version 2026.5.4 update: optimized plugin installation and gateway startup, improving stability across multiple platforms
BlockBeats News, May 5th, AI agent tool OpenClaw releases version update 2026.5.4. This update includes: more streamlined plugin installation and updates, faster gateway startup paths, improved diagnostics and repair prompts, and enhancements to Windows and Discord stability.
In terms of plugin installation, the official package recovery between npm and ClawHub is smoother, Beta channel updates are more stable, and the “doctor” tool can direct expired configurations to the correct installation path. Gateway startup and control paths are optimized to reduce cold start plugin scanning and lazy loading overhead, providing clearer diagnostic information at each stage. The “doctor” tool is further upgraded to retain SecretRefs during cleanup, fix expired plugin configurations, and offer more explicit follow-up actions when updates fail.
Windows environment improvements include avoiding the ::1/libuv loopback binding issue, temporary fixes for media file write paths; Discord startup and status reporting now more accurately reflect network anomalies. For multi-channel communication, fixes include Slack thread issues, optimized Telegram previews, support for WhatsApp Newsletter target sending, and fixing false success reports when Discord message sending fails.
Voice and call capabilities are enhanced to support real-time Gemini voice bridges via Twilio, optimizing audio rhythm, queue management, and interruption handling. Regarding model authentication, a new command “openclaw models auth list” is added, allowing users to view saved authentication configurations for each agent without exposing keys or calling real-time services.
