BlockBeats News, June 17 — Alex Gluchowski, co-founder and CEO of Matter Labs, posted on the X platform today, announcing a reduction in the company's team size and explaining the reasons for layoffs.

Gluchowski stated that starting in 2024, Matter Labs began product development targeting regulated financial institutions, which led to the incubation of the enterprise-level privacy infrastructure project Prividium. Currently, the entire company has fully focused resources on this direction, with the core goal of providing privacy-centric on-chain infrastructure for enterprises and regulated financial institutions. As this business advances, customer needs are becoming clearer, and the required team skill structure differs significantly from previous stages. The layoffs are a strategic transformation requirement.

Gluchowski emphasized that all departing employees are top engineers, designers, and operations talents. This adjustment is unrelated to personal ability or work performance. The company has provided financial compensation to all departing employees and assisted with career transitions, while also opening a channel for external companies to access the list of departing talent.
