Developer Manjeet Singh and Claude Opus, through reverse engineering of Apple's private API, managed to train neural networks on the Apple Neural Engine of the M4 chip. This project bypasses CoreML by directly calling private class functions, overcoming training capacity limitations. Currently, a single transformer layer has been successfully trained, with a significant improvement in efficiency, but it is still in the early stages, and support and features still need to be refined.
