CoinWorld.net, March 3 — GoPlus has issued a security alert regarding a Chrome browser vulnerability that allows malicious extensions to elevate permissions through the Gemini panel. Please update your Chrome browser to version 143.0.7499.192 or above immediately. This vulnerability enables malicious extensions to control the Gemini Live panel in Chrome and escalate privileges, allowing access to the camera and microphone without user permission, taking screenshots, accessing local files, and more. The vulnerability is identified as CVE-2026-0628. Google fixed this issue in early January 2026 in versions 143.0.7499.192/.193 for Windows and Mac, and version 143.0.7499.192 for Linux. Please check and update your Chrome browser now.
