GoPlus issued a security alert stating that the Chrome browser has a vulnerability numbered CVE-2026-0628. Malicious extensions can escalate privileges through the Gemini Live panel, accessing the camera, microphone, capturing screenshots, and reading local files without user permission. Google fixed this vulnerability in early January 2026 in Windows/Mac versions 143.0.7499.192/.193 and Linux version 143.0.7499.192. Users are advised to immediately check and upgrade Chrome to the above or a higher version.
