Today, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced that the spring fishing ban will be implemented in the Pearl River, Huai River, Qiantang River, Min River, and inland waters of Hainan Province from 0:00 on March 1 to 24:00 on June 30. During the ban period, all fishing activities are prohibited except for recreational fishing and leisure fisheries. During the spring fishing ban, local authorities will strengthen law enforcement and supervision, focusing on key water areas and time periods to organize special inspections, and strictly crack down on illegal activities such as electrocuting and poisoning fish, as well as illegal “catch, transport, and sale” criminal groups. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will work with relevant departments to intensify inspections, supervision, and follow-up investigations, effectively maintain order during the spring fishing ban, enhance species protection and habitat restoration, and safeguard aquatic biological resources and water ecosystem environments.
