Mining operations halted, but coking steel enterprises still consume, leading to a decrease in overall coking coal inventory

During the Spring Festival holiday, coal mines shut down and production stopped, leading to a decrease in coking coal supply and lower coal mine coking coal inventories. Meanwhile, coke and steel companies halted procurement orders, resulting in sparse market transactions. Port inventories of coking coal remained stable at 4.9627 million tons. However, after consumption during the holiday period, inventories at coke and steel plants declined. Coking plant total inventories dropped sharply by 18.86% to 10.7909 million tons, while steel plant coking coal inventories slightly decreased by 2.14% to 8.2035 million tons, a reduction of 179,000 tons. Overall, the comprehensive coking coal inventory decreased by 2.784 million tons to 26.4731 million tons compared to the previous month, down 3.94% year-on-year. (Mysteel)
