Eastern Airlines announces ticket change and refund policies for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other routes

On February 28, Eastern Airlines issued a notice stating that to assist travelers affected by the recent security situation in the Middle East and to ensure proper travel arrangements and passenger services, special ticket handling policies have been established for routes involving Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and Muscat.

Air China releases special ticket handling policies for Dubai and other flights

On February 28, Air China announced that due to regional circumstances, to help travelers better plan their trips, it has issued special handling policies for tickets on flights to and from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh, including codeshare flights with CA flight numbers. The details are as follows:

1. Eligibility Conditions

Tickets must meet all three of the following:

(1) Tickets starting with Air China 999 (including mileage reward tickets) purchased or reissued before 8:00 PM on February 28, 2026 (inclusive);

(2) Tickets not used for travel dates between February 28, 2026 (inclusive) and March 15, 2026 (inclusive), involving actual operated flights by Air China to/from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and codeshare flights with CA flight numbers;

(3) Requests for ticket changes or refunds made after 12:00 AM on February 28, 2026 (inclusive), based on the ticket cancellation time.

2. Ticket Change and Refund Policies

If you are unsure of your new travel dates, please contact the original ticketing channel, Air China customer service hotline 95583, or sales outlets before the scheduled flight departure to cancel your reservation. Once your new travel plans are confirmed, follow the rules below to change or refund your ticket.

(1) Ticket Changes

Within the validity period of the ticket, the first change is free of change fees, but any fare difference for the cabin class or seasonal adjustments will be charged. Subsequent changes must comply with the ticket’s terms and conditions.

(2) Refunds

Within the ticket validity period, unused segments can be refunded free of charge. For tickets that have already been changed according to this notice, refunds will be processed according to the ticket’s terms and conditions.

(3) Route and carrier changes

If you wish to change the route or carrier, it is recommended to cancel the original ticket and purchase a new one.

This notice is effective from February 28, 2026.

China Southern Airlines issues notice on special handling for Middle Eastern routes

China Southern Airlines announced that due to recent security developments in the Middle East, to assist travelers in better planning their trips, it has issued a special handling notice for tickets on flights to and from the Middle East. The details are as follows:

1. Eligible Tickets

Tickets starting with CZ purchased or reissued before 8:00 PM on February 28, 2026 (inclusive), involving travel dates between February 28, 2026 (inclusive) and March 15, 2026 (inclusive), on flights operated by China Southern to/from Dubai, Riyadh, Tehran, Doha (including layovers), or codeshare flights with CZ flight numbers.

2. Change and Refund Policies

Passengers who cancel their confirmed seats before flight departure can process refunds or changes within the ticket validity period according to the following rules:

(1) Ticket Changes

First change to the same route on a China Southern operated flight is free of charge; fare differences will be collected if applicable. Further changes must follow the ticket’s terms and conditions.

(2) Refunds

Refunds requested within the ticket validity period are free of charge. For tickets that have been changed according to the above principles, refunds will be processed according to the ticket’s terms and conditions.

3. Other matters will be handled according to the ticket’s terms and conditions.
