Abstract generation in progress

Traditional insurance products are beginning to embrace digital assets. Recently, U.S. insurance giant Delaware Life announced a deep partnership with BlackRock, which manages over $10 trillion in assets, to jointly launch the market’s first fixed indexed annuity product that includes Bitcoin in its investment portfolio. This move breaks the long-standing “隔离带” (isolation barrier) between insurance products and digital assets, marking an increased recognition of cryptocurrencies by mainstream financial institutions.

Dual Asset Allocation, Creating Risk-Controllable Cryptocurrency Exposure

The newly launched product is designed based on the “BlackRock US Stock Balanced Risk 12% Index” framework, carefully allocating between the iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (core U.S. stocks) and the spot Bitcoin ETF IBIT (digital asset exposure), achieving an organic integration of traditional finance and the digital economy. The cleverness of this combination lies in allowing investors to enjoy stable returns from the U.S. stock market while participating in the appreciation potential of digital assets through Bitcoin allocation, with principal safety secured by the insurance product’s guaranteed return mechanism.

Hot Demand for Spot Bitcoin ETFs, Market Soil for the Product

The product’s launch is not without precedent. According to publicly available data from BlackRock, its spot Bitcoin ETF product IBIT has attracted significant capital since its launch, with assets under management approaching $76 billion, setting a record among similar industry products. Recent capital inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs in the U.S. market remain strong, providing a solid market foundation and investor demand support for integrating Bitcoin exposure into insurance products.

A New Direction in Financial Innovation

The collaboration between Delaware Life and BlackRock not only demonstrates traditional financial institutions’ recognition of the long-term value of digital assets like Bitcoin but also reflects a new trend in insurance product innovation—offering investors more diversified asset allocation options under controlled risk conditions. As more institutional investors enter the digital asset space, similar innovative products are likely to become standard components of future insurance investment portfolios.
