PowerSecure is partnering with Kit Carson Electric Cooperative (KCEC) to construct three microgrids with battery energy storage systems in Northern New Mexico. This project, totaling 7.5 MW of BESS (38.25 MWh) across Taos Ski Valley, El Rito West, and Penasco, aims to enhance grid resilience against extreme weather and wildfires. The microgrids will support critical infrastructure during extended outages and enable public safety power shutoffs while maintaining local power loads.
