Someone recently asked me a common question: How can I get first-hand industry information? Why do I always find out late, only to realize that early participants have already stepped in, and I end up getting trapped?

My answer is very straightforward: Spend money. Not to buy information, but to learn, to experiment and make mistakes, to invest in yourself. Any action that can enhance your position within your circle is worth doing.

Recently, a recruiter from an exchange contacted me, saying they are hiring to work in Hong Kong or Shenzhen, but the English proficiency requirement is very high. My own English isn't strong enough, so I missed that opportunity. But if I were fluent in English, in my twenties, and in Shenzhen, it could have worked out. Entering the exchange's professional circle means gaining access to its resources and information network. If you have good English skills and a relevant background, you might consider this path.

Many people misunderstand what "first-hand information" means. They think that just by knowing certain information, they can buy early and make money. That logic is fundamentally wrong.

Information is the result, not the cause. What truly determines everything is the circle you are in.

Occasionally catching a few valuable pieces of information by luck might earn you some profit, but this cannot be replicated. Because the core is the circle. A circle is not just a community, a group of people, or a platform; it is defined by your own temperament, abilities, and resources. The circle attracts the right people, which in turn generates relevant information flow. If you haven't reached that level, it's very difficult to continuously obtain valuable information. Instead of worrying about missed messages, think about how to improve yourself and expand your capabilities. Naturally, you will enter new circles.

Basically, it's the difference between having money and not having money. Poor people chase news, rich people copy homework, and we're caught in the middle. The circle can't be changed at all; the fate is written by others, and the market trend is controlled by the main players. It sounds right, but most people don't have a chance to enter that circle, they can't compete. Good at English, matching background, and still in Shenzhen... I don't meet any of these conditions. Instead of improving myself, I'd rather pray that next time I turn around, I can step on the foot of the dog whale. The phrase "information is the result" really hit me hard, no wonder I always find out last.

That's so true, the circle is the key, and information is really just a byproduct.

In plain terms, it's about upgrading your perspective. It's not an information problem; it's a matter of your current position.

Well said, the circle layer is really more valuable than the information itself. Mastering English is truly the key to opening doors; so many opportunities are just waiting there. Investing in yourself with money has never been a loss; after all, everyone has to pay tuition fees. Instead of constantly scrolling through groups for news, it's better to improve your own capabilities and boundaries. Information captured by luck cannot really be copied; what can be copied is only the circle layer. The work at those few exchanges in Shenzhen is indeed intense, but the resource network after getting in is truly valuable. The idea that "information is the result" is brilliant; many people really have it backwards. If I had known earlier in my youth, I should have studied English well; now it's too late to regret. So in the end, it still depends on yourself. If you want to enter a new circle layer, you need to have the corresponding skills.
