X (formerly Twitter) recently announced that 2026 will be positioned as the “Year of Creators,” along with multiple system updates aimed at strengthening creators’ growth momentum and monetization capabilities. The official creator account @XCreators explained that the platform will assist more creators in establishing sustainable income sources through expanding the revenue sharing pool, adjusting payment calculation logic, and other measures.
X Announces Doubling of Creators’ Revenue in 2026
According to @XCreators, X recorded the highest total payout since the monetization program launched at the end of 2025, and this is just the beginning of a new round of reforms. Moving into 2026, the platform’s strategic focus will shift entirely to “empowering creators,” helping them expand influence and increase actual earnings.
Specifically, X first announced that the “revenue sharing pool will be doubled.” As the number of X Premium subscription users continued to grow in 2025, the platform will distribute more subscription revenue more fairly to creators, expected to significantly boost overall payout potential and enable more content creators to profit from platform traffic.
Additionally, X will innovate its revenue calculation method. Future revenue sharing will be based primarily on “Verified Home Timeline impressions,” meaning the actual number of times Premium users see content on their homepage timeline. This indicates that income sources will be more directly linked to genuine viewing behavior, especially rewarding content that frequently appears in timelines and sparks discussion and interaction.
The official also announced that a more comprehensive earnings dashboard will be launched soon in Creator Studio, allowing creators to track relevant data in real-time.

Regarding content strategy, the platform also revealed plans to adjust the weighting of different content formats. However, some core mechanisms will remain unchanged.
