Recently, hardware devices have become a core topic of discussion in the industry. I have some thoughts on the current trading competition landscape.
First, early deployment followed by in-depth research has evolved into the mainstream approach—speed takes precedence over perfection. Second, the ability to enter the market quickly will gradually become common among traders, which means reaction times will be continuously compressed. Once everyone is familiar with the operational procedures, the entire market will enter an unprecedented high-difficulty competition phase.
Moreover, it is foreseeable that after the widespread adoption of hardware devices, the competition will no longer be just about reaction speed. It will inevitably evolve into a comprehensive technological competition—from network latency and trading software optimization to the coordination capabilities of the entire system.
That being said, I only have an old laptop, and I am a bit worried about whether I can keep up with this wave of hardware competition.
