Strategy Sells 32 BTC as JPMorgan Warns Clarity Act Delays May Pressure Bitcoin in H2 2026

BTC-4.41%
According to JPMorgan's internal research note, Bitcoin's price trend in the second half of 2026 will largely depend on Strategy's (formerly MicroStrategy) funding strategy and the Clarity Act's regulatory progress. Strategy, which holds over 800,000 BTC, recently sold 32 BTC (approximately $2.5 million) for the first time since the previous bear market, raising concerns about potential liquidations should market conditions worsen. JPMorgan noted that Strategy must cover approximately $1.7 billion in annual preferred stock dividends, with current cash reserves covering only six months of payments. Meanwhile, the Clarity Act, a comprehensive digital asset regulatory framework, failed to secure Senate approval by the June 30 deadline previously forecast by JPMorgan. Current betting odds on Polymarket suggest only a 50% chance of passage by year-end, as the legislative window narrows ahead of November midterm elections.
