According to Iran's FARS News Agency on May 24, Iran and the United States are finalizing a memorandum of understanding that includes mutual pledges: the U.S. and its allies commit not to launch any attacks on Iran and its allies; correspondingly, Iran and its allies commit not to initiate military action against the United States and its allies.

U.S. President Trump confirmed on social media on May 23 that the two countries have essentially reached an agreement, pending final approval by both nations and relevant stakeholders.
