Alibaba Explores Small Modular Reactors to Power Hangzhou Data Center

According to China Business Network and nuclear power state enterprise officials, Alibaba recently discussed building small modular reactors (SMRs) to supply power to its Hangzhou Renhe data center, which faces significant electricity demand. The facility, Zhejiang's first cloud computing data center, supports AI firms including StrongBrain Technology and Lingban Technology.

The core bottleneck in negotiations centers on electricity pricing and power supply models, officials said.
